Ebay’s My Page Can Help Build Your List
By Ray Johnson

There are a number of tools available to sellers on eBay that most sellers don’t take advantage of. One of the best is the My Page feature. Either sellers don’t realize it is available to them or they don’t know how to use it. The My Page feature on eBay can be utilized to enhance your internet marketing business in many ways.

If you don’t know what My Page is, it is a page that you can set up on eBay that is designed for you to tell your buyers about yourself. The page can be customized to some degree using tools on the auction site, but can be further customized by adding some simple HTML coding.

How does the My Page help your internet marketing business? I’m glad you asked! This feature, if used properly can help in several ways. It can help your eBay business but it can also help your off auction business.

The first advantage that your My Page provides is it can help your auction sales by letting your customers or potential customers know who you are. You can use this page to begin to develop a relationship with your buyers. They will have the opportunity to learn about you and understand that you are not some nameless entity just out to get their money.

The relationship building potential of your My Page can significantly enhance your eBay sales. The more your buyers know about you, the more likely they are to do business with you.

You can also add some sales plugs for some of your other auctions and create extra traffic for multiple auctions. Even though this can really add to your auction business, the biggest advantage you will get from using the My Page option, is that it can significantly add to your non auction business.

There is one feature that eBay allows on the My Page that is not allowed in any other part of it’s site. You can put external links on your My Page. External links are links that take your buyers off of eBay. This is a very powerful tool.

You can link to your non auction internet businesses. You can send your My Page visitors to your websites. You can take advantage of the tremendous traffic that eBay has and divert some of it to your other online activities. The most useful strategy to use in conjunction with this feature, is to use it to build your list.

One of the most important foundations to your online business is your list of leads, your list of potential customers. The better and the bigger your list, the better and more successful your online marketing.

On your My Page, your external links can be to a squeeze page, where you can obtain your potential customer’s email and name so that they can be added to your list. You can bribe them with some free reports or ebooks to entice them to follow your link to your squeeze page and sign up.

The proper use of your My Page can enhance your eBay business and your non auction business. Utilize this overlooked tool, and you will attain your internet marketing goals faster than you ever thought you would.
